Maryland Mom Killed By Stalker In Murder-Suicide: Report

A 50-year-old woman was killed by her stalker in a murder-suicide in Montgomery County, MD overnight, according to police and NBC Washington.

Michelle Carter and Maurice Harris, 51, were found dead by responding officers around 9:05 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 28 on the 18900 block of Highstream Driver in Germantown, county police said.

Friends and family told NBC Washington that Carter was being stalked by Harris.

Both Carter and Harris were found lying in the parking lot of the townhome community having suffered gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead on scene. A handgun was located nearby, authorities said.

Carter's son, Vince Frene, penned a tribute to her on Instagram.

The Major Crimes Division, Homicide Section was notified and during the course of the investigation, detectives learned that Carter and Harris had previously been in a relationship.

Both have been transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for autopsy to determine specific cause of death.
